What is ZyMot MULTI or Fertile Plus?
Fertile Plus or ZyMot MULTI is a device used in the Love Fertility laboratory to improve sperm selection and prevent the damage that can occur to sperm during the processing of a semen sample for sperm preparation, before being used in assisted reproduction treatments such as intrauterine insemination (IUI).
It selects sperm with:
- Better morphology
- Better motility
- Reduced sperm DNA fragmentation
- Reduced presence of reactive oxygen species (ROS)
Approximately 30% of couple infertility causes are related to male factor
These fertility problems are associated with poor sperm quality:
- Oligospermia. Low sperm concentration in the semen sample.
- Asthenospermia. Poor motility — reduced progression, movement patterns, and speed of sperm.
- Teratospermia. High number of sperm with morphological abnormalities.
